Če sem imel nekaj sigurno v vikendi svojega otroštva, je da bom v nedeljo v mamini vasi jedel Paello z vso družino. Verjetno boste v nekem trenutku slišali koncept paelle, v knjigah, filmih ali kakšnem svetovalcu, ki vam pravi: »Visit Spain: Paella, sangría, flamenco Olé olé«. Ampak kaj je skrivnost za to priljubljeno riž?
To je kontroverzna tema, ker je rečelo, da originalna je iz Valencije, v vsaki regiji pa boste našli drugačno, s svinjino, piščancem, zajcem, raco, polži ali samo polno zelenjave. Rekel bi, da je to dobesedno riž s stvarmi, kuhanimi v istem loncu, saj lahko za pripravo uporabite vse sestavine, ki jih imate radi. Pri tej jedi je pomembno, kako jo pripraviti, popoln ponev, vrstni red priprave, čas in intenzivnost kuhanja ter seveda s kom jo delite.
Na delavnici paelle vam bom pokazal prav to, kako narediti to tradicionalno jed, ki bo vas in vaše goste ogrela z nekaj španskih okusov. Z demonstracijo vam bom razložil najboljši način kuhanja popolne paelle in kako lahko osnovno metodo spremenite v igrišče okusov, odvisno od vaših okusov.
Kot ko sem bil otrok, ko bo riž gotov in ne bomo več mogli prenašati njegovih vonjav, se bomo usedli in poskusili kot majhna eno-popoldanska družina.

If I had something sure in the weekends of my childhood, is that on Sunday i was going to be in my mother’s village eating Paella with all my family. Probably you hear the concept of Paella at some moment, in books, films or some advisor that tells you “visit Espana: paella, sangría, flamenco Olé olé”. But which is the secret behind this popular dish?
This is a controversial topic because it says that the original one is from Valencia. Still, you’ll find a different one in every region, with pork, chicken, rabbit, duck, snails or just full of vegetables. I’d say that it’s rice with stuff cooked in the same pot, cause you could use all the ingredients that you love to prepare it. The important thing in this dish is how to make it, the perfect pan, the order of preparation, the time and intensity of cooking and, of course, whom you share it with.
In this Paella Workshop, I will show you just that, how to make this traditional dish that will warm you and your guests with some Spanish flavours. With a demonstration, I’ll explain to you the best way to cook the perfect Paella and how you can turn the basic method into a playground of flavours depending on your tastes.
As when I was a child when the rice would be done, and we can’t bear its smells any longer, we’ll sit down and try it like a little one-afternoon family.
